Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Where do people find freelance web designers?
1·5 months agoIf you’re on mastodon try posting your request there.
Bazzite is crazy simple and the forum on discourse is pretty active as well. Haven’t had many problems so far.

Linux@lemmy.ml•RustDesk, probably one of the best TeamViewer Alternatives
11·6 months agoYou can also self host the rustdeck server - then you don’t even have you connect to their infrastructure.
Another client that works really well with navidrome is feishin. Also capable of showing lyrics
It’s probably countered by the “year of the Linux desktop” claims. Keeps it in a limbo.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Atomic Linux Distros: What Barriers Stand Between You and Making the Switch?
122·8 months agoProbably because everyone is still constantly recommending Mint as a good distro for beginners.

linuxmemes@lemmy.world•Every immutable distro right now
36·8 months agoI think the biggest advantage for my use case is the no fuzz aspect. In the rare case something goes wrong I can reboot and select the previous version that worked without a problem. Also the ease of mind knowing I can’t really fuck up my machine, as the important parts are immutable. Other than that I enjoy having everything gaming related already configured correctly as I use bazzite - but that’s probably also true for non immutable gaming oriented distros.
I do the same with moths as they are more active at night
One of them isn’t

Technology@lemmy.world•France and Germany, in joint collaboration, have developed a Google Docs alternative - and its awesome! (Netherlands are currently onboarded)English
33·9 months agoFrom briefly looking over the toot, I think the German version is called openDesk (bad choice as there seems to be some interior design software with the same name) there is a community version you can self host in a docker container. They apparently also have distro packages for Debian and Ubuntu but they seem to have stopped development on those.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•A very low-resolution image is probably way harder for a painter to convincingly replicate than a pristine HD image of the same scene
5·11 months agoI don’t have a definitive answer but I’d figure the low res might still be “easier” there is, for example a style called impressionism where they basically painted “pixels”.

Steam Hardware@sopuli.xyz•Bazzite is the next best thing to SteamOS [for other handhelds] while we wait on Valve
1·1 year agoReport it on the discourse site, the bazzite devs respond really quick and are super helpful.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Do any of you have M$ Word running in present form?
3·1 year agoI’ve had some success with fmstrat/winapps (if I remember the repo correctly) but that might be overkill for your use case
Not much info on how to achieve it, but some info why it might be bad can be found on the ublue discourse site. (Search for KDE gnome) Basically it seems to mess up configs to have both DEs installed or rebasing from one to the other.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Arch Linux, made immutable, declarative and atomic: blendOS v4 released
4·2 years agoI will jump into that rabbit hole, thanks!

Linux@lemmy.ml•Arch Linux, made immutable, declarative and atomic: blendOS v4 released
1·2 years agoYeah I don’t as in the bazzite installer it’s a real pain to set it up manually (also not allowing you to spread the partitions over multiple drives during the initial setup)

I’ve had great success with winboat for a lot of software including m365.
