This is one of the dumbest distractions I’ve ever witnessed. I suppose the purposely forcing an acknowledged shitty font that was pushed out for a reason is on brand for such a shitty administration.

Let me tell you though, when the power goes out it is like an unholy choir of beeping. Our pets think the apocalypse has arrived.
I wish my daughter’s rabbit wasn’t so lazy. I’d join you in the dream of animal powered infrastructure.
That’s pretty impressive. I have a “big battery” that still isn’t that big, but I don’t consider it part of my wacky constellation of UPS devices. It’s more of an “oh shit, no power, make sure the food doesn’t go bad” and keep the refrigerator going for a day kind of thing.
That’s either an impressive UPS or an impressively low power server. Either way, congrats!
Weirdly, I never had an issue with screen rotation. I always keep my two side monitors in portrait mode. I found it would usually be very minor issue (usually color or compositing related), but every once in a while a new driver would just make the system unbootable and I would get to play the “boot from a thumb drive and play detective game”. If I wanted to do that, I’d play Myst or some shit :)

There is a jellyfin client for roku. https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-roku I don’t know what hoops you need to jump through to get it on the TV, but it might be worth your time and (mack of spending) money.

It’s wild to me that people still use Plex. It used to be free with no registration required, I left when they started wanting a user on their system since I knew that would end up turning into requiring a subscription.

I don’t man, Hanlon’s razor feels appropriate here.

I am glad to see Gwar kept being awesome without Oderus. I’ve seen them decapitate the pope and Dubya, so this isn’t really a surprise.
Never had an issue with that, are you perhaps using an Nvidia gpu?
Leaving aside Arch and Nix for the moment… imagine rating Ubuntu over Mint. The depravity of the human mind know no limits.
Ah nice, I thought Classic Shell was dead as of several years ago. Did someone fork it and revive it?
It looks like what they offer isn’t a shell per se, but a playbook. Which is fine and all, probably far more viable than a true shell replacement due to Microsoft’s shitty shenanigans. If I still used Windows for a personal machine I’d be all about this. I’m worried it would interfere with the corporate garbage I have to deal with.
I didn’t think you could still get decent custom shells on Windows these days. What do you use?
What I do still have on my one Windows machine I need for a (staunchly annoying Windows only) company I do work for is a launcher program that I have been using for well over a decade. Super resource light and simple. I just don’t use the start menu at all.

Well, at least there is some good news today.

The $15 plan used to only be 2GB, which was honestly still enough for people that only use mobile data sparingly.

He was already pulling that in 97 when he was around 30 heh. He has become an IRL Billy Madison and I am proud of him.
Exactly the type of super human that would engage in N900 necromancy.
