The stock is hovering at around $324 at the time of writing, down over 15 percent over the last five days and about 28 percent year to date.
That ain’t free fall, it has a ways more to go
It’s a $20 stock. The only value in the company is the charging network.
We’ve seen this before and the neo-Nazi bastard will cook the books to turn it around.
Good.
You know what you have to do. Fire the nazi shithead. Appease the all-important stockholders.
Every now and then there’s a news about these corporations crashing but after a week they are all back at their all time high. This sort of news doesn’t seem to achieve nothing but give these corporation visibility and keep better news at bay.
He’s gone! They’re finished! It’s over! We won! It’s happening! They just make a title you want to read, same for someone who wants to read something against trans people.
Not SpaceX so far. Down to half it’s high point. It’s only been a public stock 6(?) weeks. Seems to be averaging a few dollars negative each day with no apparent floor.
It lets them shuffle numbers around on a spreasheet to invent new money. This isn’t an oopsy.
#lol I hope they get stuck hodling the bag

I would rather walk than buy a tesla
Cars ruin cities in general.
There are a couple local teslas with the “I bought it before I knew how awful he is” stickers and like, okay, I can understand how that might happen. Still gonna judge you until there’s some evidence you don’t suck, but I’m willing to be forgiving on that one.
… However there’s also a local cybertruck with that sticker, and buddy no nobody’s buying it, stop trying to lie your way out of the consequences for your actions it just makes you look even worse. FWIW I’ve seen people throw rocks at the truck twice, so there’s some hope for the future.

Which is absolute bullshit fucking lies.
Cause hes been a piece of shit his entire fucking life. He’s been a piece of shit since Paypal (Which was notorious for stealing peoples money when he was still part of it, hell…probably still is today). The whole “I bought it before I knew how awful he was” bullshit is the equivalent of nazi’s ripping off their swastikas, and when confronted saying they knew nothing but what they’ve heard is awful and terrible.
He had good PR for quite a while. Yes, he’s always been who he is, but the general public never had that information until recently. There are absolutely people who bought Teslas early on that didn’t know.
Bullshit.
The general public always had that information. Its why I’ve personally hated him since the fucking 90s. Since fucking paypal he was known as a cunt. Same with Peter Thiel.
People just put blinders on because they got big boners over electric cars and martian habitats. Cause thats the real issue here. Its not that people didnt know, Its that people willfully ignored, as they always do, because they wanted their neat shinies. Unfortunately for them, Musks miserable, worthless, cunt behavior continued to grow and get worse until they couldnt maintain their willful ignorance… The same willful ignorance that they now try to hide behind to pretend they didnt know what he was, to justify giving him the money to become what he is.
If you didnt know what a piece of shit he was, its because you averted your eyes, because the information has always fucking been there, willfully ignored, but its fucking been there.
I’m confused. Why does Musk’s behavior matter? Americans only care about money. Epstein…corruption…no one cared until gas got expensive.
Are Tesla sales down because of Fascist salutes? Or because Americans still aren’t buying EVs and the rest of the world has access to cheaper, better EVs?
I know a few very decent people who have bought like 6-7 years back. Especially back then this was just (at first sight, they were paying later when services came…) the best electric car out there. This has changed (BYD etc), and I don’t want to get into the general “cars suck” discussion here. Not my poimt. All I wanna say is that I in no way judge per se anybody driving an “old” model S. Not every average customer did the research and maybe it was a bit more known to the general public in the US than in the rest of the world what a douchebag Elon was let’s say pre 2020. All the newer/Tesla versions and their buyers? They can go fuck themselves because no excuse after DOGE any more. You’re directly supporting fascism. Everybody knows today.
What do you think about folks buying them second-hand? Some friends of ours are fairly liberal and dislike Musk, but they wanted an EV and couldn’t afford a new one. So they bought a used Tesla. As a liberal, I think the environment is my top issue… So I just shrugged. We can’t fix humanity’s bullshit while society is collapsing due to worsening climate disasters. It can be hard to get people to focus on something so esoteric though when people are struggling with more immediate needs, so I get the opposing view that it’s lower priority even if I disagree.
For me it really depends on the business model. Okay he won’t profit from the purchase but how much will you still (be forced to) pay in the Tesla ecosystem with a 2nd hand car and shift capital to him? I am really uninformed about this but this would be my guideline in the decision.
Second hand is risky now. They aren’t putting money in his pocket, which is good, but they’ll still feel the fallout of his actions the same as his sycophants.
By “feel the fallout”, do you mean they won’t be able to buy replacement parts when the company goes under/ there will be a ton of maintenance due to poor product quality? Or do you mean the blowback from other liberals/ progressives? If the former, I can’t help but agree. If the latter, I guess that’s what I’m trying to take issue with/ head-off.
I’m afraid both are unavoidable. Also, the blowback would be from people in general. At this point he’s pissed off everyone that’s not one of his delusional fans.
well, yeah
but I’d still rather drive somewhere than walk there if it’s really far and I have to make the trip
I can’t imagine a situation where a humanoid robot would be a benefit to us in our 650sqft apartment. What would it even do? And the cost would be astronomical.
Sex bot
With reputation of Musk, who was recorded tripping in White House like a crack head, the company is certainly will not have any credibility or allocation in my portfolio because I would presume that their financial reporting is thoroughly cooked.
Maybe if Elon throws out a few more Nazi salutes, it will fix the problem. Surely that will increase sales.

39? Like the nazis were nice and respectable before 1939?
Should say at least 1933 for when hitler got appointed Chancellor. 1920 when the party got formed. 1924 for the beer hall putsch. Maybe 1938 for the Kristallnacht.
Yeah, that phrasing is a little long to stick in a meme tho.
“I’m just showing the stock graph in what direction to go”
I predicted this after his reputation fully tanked when he went full MAGA/ DOGE. Every earnings report is going to depress the stock price more and more, until the floor just falls out, and it collapses.
Tesla is NEVER coming back. It will be bankrupt in 3 years.
If they fire him, it’s got a chance.
They’ve squandered their lead on not delivering stupid tech, whilst ignoring the cars. If they got a CEO that refocused on the cars I think there’s still something there.
Everything to do with him is turning to shit though.
People said the same after he did the nazi salute. You guys don’t learn.
What are you talking about? Tesla has been on a steady downward slide ever since Musk started getting froggy. Things don’t happen overnight, y’know? It takes time, and none of the time between then and now has been good for Tesla, and it ain’t gonna get good. Tesla is a dead man walking.
Nobody can see the future. We will see.
The nazi salute is the same time they’re talking about though…
And the stock is starting to tank, because the earnings are shit, but they’ve been way below it’s valuation for ages
Tesla is a hype stock and is based on hopes and dreams. Maybe it will get there but probably not. If Elon gets sick or quits, the entire company doesn’t have a chance.
I would say there is a very big chance of that happening in the next few years.
The next big wave is probably robotics and tesla could have a chance there though to once again rise. But many other tech companies want the same market.
Elon made himself toxic. If they need him to survive, they’re already dead.
Elon is the one deciding everything so yeah, I can’t see how some random ceo is going to have the same visions and drive to work all the time.
You guys? As in… Who?
Cause it’s not like there’s some magic place that’s doing a great job holding him accountable.
Thinking anywhere is immune from fascism is exactly how it spreads.
People don’t even read. They have record sales right now, the issue isn’t that people aren’t buying their cars.
The reason for the tank is because of how much money Tesla is spending on expansion; robotaxi rollout, data centers, and Optimus are sucking up short term funds in seeking out long term profits. Investors and the stock market hate this, but it’s nothing more than a temporary blip.
Right but those are all speculative, and unlikely to ever turn a profit. Optimus is a charade.
If those ventures fail, they cut their losses and fall back on their cars which are doing wildly well and it’s back to business as usual. They have like 1.5 million active FSD users, nearly half of which are paying a monthly $99. They just added 200,000 more this quarter alone.
Don’t get me wrong, fuck Tesla, I wish to see Elon destitute and miserable. But it’s just not realistic, in my opinion.
It’s the same reason why other tech companies are falling too, like alphabet. The giant spending on AI surprised the market, which is strange, since it hasn’t been a secret. But the stock market is always over-reacting, which is why it’s easy to make money long term.
People without experience get scared and sell their stocks, until they get the needed experience to either sell and buy something on the way up, or don’t sell and wait it out.
In two weeks when SPCX employees can sell, please let them cash out and resign as hard as possible. They’re reasonable intelligent people who know the promises are science fantasy, so this is a plausible scenario. Then, as investors lose faith, Tesla enters true freefall right as fElon tries to leverage his shares to float SPCX. Let this Icarus of Grift come spiraling down so we never have to hear about him or his cultists again.
They’re obviously gifted engineers there, but…
They choose to work for him. I don’t like the idea of people getting stinking rich off that life choice.
If it’s a love’em and leave’em at the worst possible moment situation, it’s the right life choice. Besides, with Honda, China, Retalt and others would be happy to hire them if it’s a passion.
How do you lose money selling electric cars when two oil critical straits are blocaded
By having your CEO come out as a fascist, pissing off the demographic that tends to buy EVs and also stagnating while allowing your competitors to catch up.
Also your vehicles rust in the rain, and focusing on making them “impenetrable” for some fucking reason so in an emergency people can’t get out and burn to death.
Sadly, their car sales are back up in Europe since unfortunately nobody has morals anymore. The real answer is “blowing your money on the next grift - AI and robotics”
Sadly, their car sales are back up in Europe
Alas, the same in Australia and we have no tariffs on cars,. so plenty of options
Supporting the election of rightwing oil sponsored Nazis that will cancel the subsidies on your vehicles is another way to lose profits.
I’m starting to wonder if Tesla doesn’t actually want to sell cars, and would rather rent rides like uber though, just like the rest of the late stage capitalist hellhole is trying to do.
However, the company’s gross profits dropped as operating expenses climbed far quicker than revenue, in large part thanks to AI-related capital expenses and other research and development
By pivoting to humanoid robots and LLMs.
Teslas are objectively last Gen. The only reason they still sell well in the US and some other markets is tariffs.
Other US companies are actually competing with them for market share now, too. It certainly isn’t helping Tesla sell.
Also, Teslas are starting to get the reputation they deserve: overpriced shitbox vehicles that have horrible build quality because Musk has stripped anything good out of them for profit.
no tarrifs in Australia and alas they still sell well.
Check out used EVs. We were just in the market and there a 10x the Teslas than the rest of the options on carmax. Not exaggerating.
In the US, the market has soured on EVs and the federal tax credits have gone away.
Outside the US, China is eating their lunch.
The US has absolutely not soured on EVs, you need to read the headlines in your bubble more critically. The increasing rate at which EVs are selling in the US is increasing slightly less quickly. Which is all the oil company headlines need to spout bullshit.
Yeah, while there are some folks that are die-hard must have gas cars, lots of other folks experience instant torque, smoothest and quietest drive imaginable, and replenishing range without having to go out of your way to a station. Wondering when the next maintenance needs to come and there’s no oil, no wearing belts, no super hot engine bay, just some things like wiper blades and a bit more rough on tires owing to generally higher weight.
There are downsides and awkward fits for some people. My apartment dwelling colleague would be screwed since his place has no available residential charging. Road trips can be more inconvient (though viable and perhaps worth it if you are taking a road trip every few months but spare yourself a weekly trip to the gas station). But certainly there’s a market for which EVs provide more value than combustion vehicles.
Currently it’s cheaper to road trip on gas than electric, mainly because NACS supercharging is so expensive, currently around $0.70/kWh for non-Teslas at superchargers. Once the CCS chargers start converting to NACS prices will hopefully fall due to competition. Also gas prices seemed destined to go up more and once they climb to the mid $5’s, electric pulls ahead again. An EV still makes sense overall because for most people most driving is not going to be road trips and so slightly higher costs for a road trip are going to be more than paid for due to local driving but unfortunately right now road trips are not a strength of EVs.
Our home is 100% EV, its only two cars but its still a sweep!
That makes sense because the country is ass backwards
Yes, yes we are.
